About Memory Castle

Memory Castle is a memory game for iPhone and iPad built on the method of loci — the ancient “memory palace” technique memory champions use. Walk through 20 hand-painted rooms, study where every object sits, then rebuild each room from memory. Story rooms 1–3 are free; small one-time purchases open the rest. No ads, no subscriptions.

How to play

Each room shows a set of objects, each in its own spot. Study where everything sits — then the room empties, and you drag each object from the tray back onto the ring where it belongs. Put every object back in the right place to clear the room.

Easy, Medium and Hard set how many objects a room holds — 4, 5 or 6 — and you choose the difficulty separately for each mode.

The three modes

• Story Mode — 20 rooms. Each room grows by one object per level. After every three rooms, the Gatekeeper asks you to rebuild all three from memory, with no hints. Miss a level and you get one retry; miss again and you go back to the first room of that part of the castle. Pass a gate and your climb is saved, separately for each difficulty — tap “Show map” to start again from any room you've reached.
• Timed Mode — Every room arrives fully set up, and its objects appear one at a time on a clock you set from 1 to 7 seconds per object. The Gatekeeper still comes every three rooms, and one slip ends the run.
• Endless Mode — Rooms keep coming, and after each one you rebuild every room you've cleared so far. One slip ends the run — how deep you got is your score.

Purchases

Story rooms 1–3 are free. Everything else is a one-time purchase — no subscriptions, no ads:

• All Rooms — rooms 4–20, in every mode
• Endless Mode — unlocks Endless Mode
• Timed Mode — unlocks Timed Mode
• All Access — everything
• Complete the Castle — offered if you already own exactly one of the three items above; it unlocks everything else

Purchases are handled by Apple. To get them back on a new or reset device, tap “Restore Purchases” on the store screen or in Settings ▸ Purchases.

Settings

• Language — English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Japanese, Korean or Simplified Chinese. The game switches instantly — no restart needed.
• Music and Sound effects — turn each on or off, and pick the song that plays during a game, or Random.
• How to play — replays the walkthrough any time.
• Reset progress — wipes your best scores and saved Story climbs on this device. Purchases are kept.
• Credits — the music and sound effects were created with Gemini.

Troubleshooting

Try these in order before emailing — most issues clear up in the first two steps.

1. Make sure you're on the latest version of Memory Castle from the App Store.
2. Force-close the app and reopen it.
3. Restart your device.
4. Check that iOS or iPadOS itself is up to date and you have some free storage.

Reporting a bug

If it's still happening, email me with:

• Your device model (e.g. iPhone 14, iPad Air)
• Which mode, difficulty and room it happened in
• What you expected vs. what actually happened
• A screenshot or screen recording, if you can grab one

Every room has exactly one right layout — so if a placement you're sure was right didn't count, those details are usually where the real cause is hiding, and the more specific you are, the faster it gets fixed.
